I am a staff writer for the Calgary Herald and the co-author of the national bestselling true crime book Runaway Devil: How Forbidden Love Drove a 12-year-old Girl to Murder Her Family (written with my colleague Robert Remington).
I have interviewed and written about many other devils in my career, from child killers to unrepentant rapists and murderers. Throw in a few diabolical burglars and fugitives, and, well, there you have it.
These cases are complex and usually weird and it is my hope that posting stories here will help foster conversation.
